On-line Learning Materials for Fuel Poverty Advice
These learning materials are interactive and have been designed specifically to be undertaken in the participant's own home and in their own time. There is a basic module which is of one hour duration and is aimed at raising awareness of how to recognise the signs that a client is in fuel poverty, the low cost/no cost measures available to reduce heat loss in the home and where to access further support to enable the client to improve their health and be warm in their own home.
Another 9 modules have been developed for participants keen to obtain further knowledge, and thereby provide more specific advice, on subjects such as :
how to use heating systems and heating/hot water controls effectively
how to read meters and interpret fuel bills
how to avoid condensation and damp
how to efficiently use lights and appliances
how to identify appropriate measures to reduce heat loss
how to access Green Deal and ECO; new Government supported schemes for energy efficiency improvements
We can customise these modules to reflect local and regional initiatives, plus provide up to 40 users access to the materials on our Moodle system for £2000 plus VAT (equating to a cost of £50 per person)
