Our Non Domestic Green Deal Advisor (NDGDA) course
The Energy Advice Training Consortium have been awarded the 2nd round of Asset Skills funding for Non Domestic GDA training in the West Midlands and the South West.
our Non Domestic GDA course for existing NDEAs normally consists of,
4 face to face training days,
1 assessment day,
Online modules,
and an online portfolio system.
Asset Skills recommend a total of 120 hours to complete the course but people experienced in the field may be able to complete in less time than this.
Day 1 is an introduction to the Green Deal plus a session on giving energy advice.
Day 2 concentrates on the GDsbem software.
Day 3 deals with measures allowable under the Green Deal,
Day 4 covers explaining Green Deal Advice Reports and issues arising from the learners' work to date.
Day 1 and 2 are normally a week apart and Days 3 +4 are three or four weeks after Day 2. This is to allow the learner to carry out some of the portfolio work before Days 2 and 3. The assessment day is normally about a month after Day 4.
The portfolio consists of at least 3 sample Green Deal Advice Reports plus some method statements and explanatory letters etc.
The assessment day includes a role play around collecting the data required from a client and explaining a Green Deal Report. Those wanting to go through City and Guilds will also need to undertake an exam, partly multiple-choice, part short written answers. Those going through ABBE do not have an exam but will need to do some extra portfolio work.

"My EATC trainer is a highly competent and professional trainer who recognises the importance of team work and is quick to gain the trust of others and he is able to tease out contributions from those who would otherwise be reluctant to do so."
